“Helping people dream again…”Everyone has a dream. Unfortunately, many in our community are losing their ability to dream, pressured by addiction, neglect, loss and poverty. Some dream to feed their children today. Some dream that their children will complete their education and not drop out of school. Others dream that they will one day be free of addiction. Some simply dream to live through the cold night under a bridge. For those trying to dream again, Dream Center ICT is here.
Twenty years ago, my wife and I founded the Wichita Dream Center to “help people dream again.” As a social worker, Polly was overwhelmed with stories of neglect, abuse, and trauma that children in our own neighborhood were experiencing. As a pastor, I couldn’t sit idly by while our modern day “widows and orphans” suffered under the pressure of poverty, crime and lack of support. |

We started with a pickup truck and a trailer, delivering groceries to one troubled neighborhood one Saturday a month. That wasn’t enough. As more volunteers caught the vision, we expanded to every week. Block parties, bus outreach, lunches, bicycle giveaways and more.
Today, we continue to engage the culture of Wichita by stepping into the felt needs of our community. Thousands are struggling due to poverty, drug addiction, neglect, and abuse. Many cannot find their way up until someone offers them a hand up. Armed with the power of hope that God can rescue anyone at any time, our army of compassion is reaching out to our city bringing the message that “Yes! You can dream again!”

Dream Center ICT is a 501(c)(3) faith-based, social service organization that is committed to meeting the needs of at-risk children, families, and individuals who need compassionate care and attention. We offer both physical and spiritual resources as powerful tools to give those who are struggling a much-needed hand up. We support foster care and adoption families who are intervening in a powerful way. We support local schools to feed and clothe students whose families are struggling. We provide block parties and other big events to gather community, distribute free groceries and provide backpacks and school supplies.
We accomplish these goals through strategic partnerships with many churches, social service organizations, and other non-profit organizations like Convoy of Hope, Gathered, St. Francis Ministries, DCCCA, Bridge Hunger and others.
